Improper disposal of waste can be a safety and/or environmental risk.
Below are items not collected:
- Bricks
- Concrete
- Construction materials
- Wooden pallets (unless broken down)
- Gravel
- Sod (in large amounts)
- Flammable liquids*
- Pesticides/Insecticides*
- Large auto parts
- Tires*
- Railroad ties
- Motor oil*
- Refrigerant units (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers)
- TVs - floor models, rear-projection models
For disposal of flammable liquids contact the Fire Department at (614) 901-6600.
Motor Oil may disposed of at a local oil change service.
Pesticides/Insecticides can be taken to any Hazardous Waste drop site.
For disposal of other items you may contact a private hauler to collect or the local landfill (www.swaco.org) for further disposal instructions.
* Items can be be turned in at the Spring or Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection events.
