Improper disposal of waste can be a safety and/or environmental risk.

Below are items not collected:

  • Bricks
  • Concrete
  • Construction materials
  • Wooden pallets (unless broken down)
  • Gravel
  • Sod (in large amounts)
  • Flammable liquids*
  • Pesticides/Insecticides*
  • Large auto parts
  • Tires*
  • Railroad ties
  • Motor oil*
  • Refrigerant units (refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifiers)
  • TVs - floor models, rear-projection models

For disposal of flammable liquids contact the Fire Department at (614) 901-6600.

Motor Oil may disposed of at a local oil change service.

Pesticides/Insecticides can be taken to any Hazardous Waste drop site.

For disposal of other items you may contact a private hauler to collect or the local landfill (www.swaco.org) for further disposal instructions.

* Items can be be turned in at the Spring or Fall Household Hazardous Waste Collection events.
