Andrew J. Winkel, Esq.

Andrew J. Winkel, Esq., of Westerville-based law firm Metz, Bailey and McLoughlin (MBM) was named Law Director for the City of Westerville in February 2024. He officially began his duties at the Feb. 6 City Council meeting and continues to work in collaboration with Bruce Bailey, who previously served as Westerville’s Law Director for 38 years. 

Winkel served as Deputy Law Director for the City since joining MBM in 2023. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Ohio University, a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University and a Masters in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University John Glenn School of Public Affairs. 

As Law Director, Winkel works directly with Westerville City Council and City Manager Monica Dupee. The Law Director is one of three positions appointed directly by Westerville City Council (City Manager and Clerk of Council are the other two positions).

Winkel lives in Bexley, Ohio, with his wife and two children.
