Medication Disposal

The Westerville Division of Police (WPD) empowers residents to help combat potential prescription medication misuse and abuse by reducing access to medications when they are expired or no longer needed.

Those who wish to dispose of approved medications may do so free of charge, without filling out any forms. This service is intended for residents. WPD is not able to accomodate medication drop offs from businesses. Please first reference the list below of acceptable items before using this service.

Over The Counter Medication

Please do NOT place the following items in the WPD medication disposal box. Consult the packaging or manufacturer for proper disposal methods.

PLEASE NOTE: Most over-the-counter (OTC) medications can be disposed of at home. Learn how and where to dispose of OTC medications from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
