Information Systems provides support and expertise for the Geographic Information System (GIS). The City relies heavily on GIS to aid in better decision making for the community. This system supplies geographic information for capturing, managing, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information related to a specific site or location. GIS is a powerful tool providing information of the past and present and used for planning the future development of the community.
The GIS division has integrated data from multiple City departments, Delaware County, Franklin County, and third party data providers to develop a community wide information resource.
