 Census 2020

The City of Westerville will join efforts to utilize the 

expertise of community leaders to develop and implement

an outreach campaign to ensure complete and accurate count

through awareness and education of the count's importance to 

residents to overcome cultural, economic, technology or linguistic

barriers to participation in the 2020 Census.

 Poppy Days Proclamation

To proclaim May 18, 2019 as Poppy Day in

Westerville and ask all citizens pay tribute to 

those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the

name of freedom by wearing the Memorial Poppy 

on this day.

To proclaim May 24, 2019 through May 27, 2019

as Honoring Our Heroes Weekend in Westerville and 

recognize this weekend as an opportunity for all to come

together as a community to remember, to honor, and to heal.

National Emergency Medical Services Week

To proclaim the week of May 19 through May 25, 2019

as National Emergency Medical Services Week in 

Westerville with the theme, "Beyond the Call" and

encourage the community to observe this week

with appropriate programs, ceremonies

and activities.

To proclaim May 2019 as National Mental 

Health Month in Westerville and urge all residents

to support Concord Counseling Services and the 

service they provide to all citizens in Westerville.

Month and call upon all citizens of Westerville 

to enjoy, protect, and learn about our valuable

To proclaim the WesterFlora 2019 Season is open.  

To encourage all residents to support the Spirit of WesterFlora

and the Westerville Garden Club's efforts to beautify Westerville.

the 28th Annual WesterFlora 2019 Garden Tour on Sunday, 

July 21, 2019.

To proclaim June 2, 2019 through June 8, 2019

as National Garden Week in Westerville and urge 

all residents to acknowledge the importance of Gardening

To proclaim May 5 through May 11, 2019 as

Public Service Recognition Week in Westerville

and urge all residents to recognize the ongoing dedication

of public employees as they tend to the needs of the public.

National Police Week

To proclaim May 12 through May 18, 2019 as National 

Police Week in Westerville and ask that all residents and businesses

"Light Central Ohio Blue" by placing blue bulbs in exterior lights and 

displaying visible blue ribbons during Police Memorial Week.  To 

call upon all citizens to observe May 15, 2019 as Peace Officers'

Memorial Day in honor of those law enforcement officers who, 

through their courageous deeds, have made the ultimate 

sacrifice in service to their community or have become 

disabled in the performance of duty, and to recognize

and pay respect to the survivors of the fallen heroes.

promote the planting of trees in accordance

Cervical Health Awareness Month

To proclaim the month of January 2019 as Cervical Health

Awareness Month throughout the City of Westerville and encourage

all our citizens to recognize that cervical cancer is preventable, and to 

encourage and support women in our lives in taking charge of their health

and availing themselves of the tests and vaccines that have proven so 

effective in preventing cervical cancer.  We have the means to 

prevent this disease; it is incumbent on all of us to insure we 

have the will to do so.
